What is Direct Primary Care?
DPC is a healthcare model in which the physician and patient contract directly with one another. This reduces administrative overhead (no medical billers or coders) and lowers overall cost. By refusing to deal with insurance companies, we can spend more time with you during (and between!) visits, getting to know you much better, providing personalized care and improving health outcomes.
Is this concierge medicine?
Not really. The term concierge medicine is used to describe a wide array of different practice styles. Some concierge clinics are very similar to Promise, but many will also bill insurance on top of their membership fee. We intentionally choose to identify as “DPC” because we think this best describes how our practice operates. We offer a level of access often associated with concierge medicine, but at a more affordable monthly rate.
So, you really don’t bill insurance?
Not at all. In the same way you wouldn’t submit an auto claim to change your windshield wipers (eventually, new wipers would end up costing $200!), our goal is to keep prices honest by dealing directly with our patients.
Should I still have insurance?
Sure, there will always be a role for health insurance. While quite a few of our patients don’t have health insurance at all, most opt for plans with higher deductibles or participate in some sort of medical cost-sharing program (Sedera, Zion HealthShare, etc).
What does an office visit cost?
There are no extra charges or co-pays for our patients to come for a visit with the doctor.
Do you dispense medications?
Absolutely. We carry a wide array of generic medications offered to patients at wholesale cost and dispensed straight from the clinic. If you need something that we don’t carry, we’re more than happy to prescribe it to your pharmacy.
What if I need specialty care?
As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Inman is trained in managing all manner of primary care issues. However, should you need the care of a specialist, we’re happy to help you find the right doctor and then follow-up with their recommendations after your visit.
Is it easy to reach Dr. Inman?
As easy as we can possibly make it! Dr. Inman is pleased to provide his cell phone number to each of his patients. He is available for texts/calls during business hours and urgent telephone calls after hours if needed. No phone trees, no answering services, no patient portals. We want to be there whenever you need us.
